Sustained Success

Many nonprofits looking to fundraise typically use one of two approaches:


1) The Great Cause Approach: they believe donors will find them and give because “we’re such a great cause.” 


2) The Scorched-Earth Approach: they believe they need to “get as much money as possible, from as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.” 


While either approach above can provide some positive short-term results, neither allows for sustainable success. The first approach severely limits the amount of money an organization can raise. The second is one of the main reasons the nonprofit world has only a 45% retention rate for donors, and a 48% retention rate for gifts year-over-year. **


Both approaches lack one important element, strategy. Successful nonprofit fundraising requires a strategic plan and execution, just like any business development plan in a for profit organization. 

Service Description

Strategic Workshop - Cost $750*

This half-day (max. 4-hour) workshop will include an expert-led strategic session with at least three members of your board. The first part of the workshop will include a review of your organizations general strategies:

  •  Organization mission, vision, objectives
  •  History- Programs/Impact
  •  Fundraising/Opportunities for support
  •  Call to Action


The second part of the workshop will include decisions about:

  •  Fundraising Strategies
  •  Cultivation Strategies
  •  Donor Communication Plan
  •  Key Performance Indicators


Technical Workshop - Cost $750*

Altruimpact will take the information from the first workshop and create specific training for your organization. This half-day workshop (max. 4-hours) will include expert-led training to improve execution of the chosen fund development strategy.  The first part of the workshop will include a review and explanation of the chosen fund development strategy.


The second part of the workshop will include board/staff training to aid in execution, including:

  •  Preparing your individual “story”
  •  Donor meeting expectations and preparation
  •  Donor management best practices
  •  Holding each other accountable for success


*Includes prep time, travel and a written summation of decisions made in workshop.
